Installation Guidelines are included on every carton of Somerset flooring. Please make sure your installer is familiar with, and follows the installation guidelines for your flooring.
INSTALLATION CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE of hardwood flooring, subfloor, structure, all jobsite conditions including temperature, humidity, subfloor moisture, and all other variables that may affect the performance of hardwood flooring.
Somerset manufactures flooring, not finished floors; the flooring installer must complete the finished product. Many critical decisions can only be made at the time/place of installation, and therefore are the responsibility of the installer and/or owner. These include but are not limited to proper storage and handling, complete evaluation of site conditions including moisture testing, acclimation of flooring to proper conditions, site preparation, flooring layout, confirmation of proper milling, grade and color, proper installation methods, and cleanup. DO NOT INSTALL IF THERE IS ANY QUESTION AS TO ACCEPTABILITY OF ALL MATERIALS, including color (natural or stain) and gloss consistency, and sufficient quantity to complete the job. Inadequate estimating and scheduling are not the responsibility of Somerset Hardwood Flooring.
